Voxcribe provides video and audio transcription. This policy explains how we handle information when you visit the site, transcribe a file, create an account, or contact us. Your browser extracts audio locally and uploads only that audio for transcription. Your original video stays on your device.
Information we process
We process submitted audio, generated transcripts and edits, timestamps, task status, and saved history. Account information may include your name and email from Google sign-in or email registration, authentication records, plan entitlements, and payment references when paid plans are available. Support requests include the information you choose to send us. We also process limited technical information needed to operate and protect the service.
Anonymous use and cookies
For anonymous transcription, we store a random identifier in a browser cookie so a task can be associated with that browser and usage limits can be applied. Account cookies keep you signed in. We use network and device signals for rate limits and abuse prevention; stored abuse identifiers are hashed rather than kept as raw IP addresses. Cloudflare Turnstile checks help prevent automated abuse. Signing in can associate eligible anonymous tasks from your browser with your account.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity to understand how visitors use the site, such as which pages are visited and where people get stuck, so we can improve it. These tools set their own cookies and collect usage data like pages viewed, clicks, scrolling, device and browser type, and approximate location. Clarity may record how a page is used; transcript text, file names and account pages are masked and are not sent to Clarity. You can block these cookies through your browser settings or a content blocker without affecting transcription.
How we use information
We use information to transcribe audio, save and display your history, manage accounts and credits, provide support, investigate failures, prevent abuse, and meet legal or accounting obligations. We do not use your audio or transcript content to train transcription or general-purpose AI models. Browser editing drafts and temporary extracted audio may also be stored locally on your device; local drafts expire after 30 days, and temporary extraction files are cleaned up by the browser when it is active.
Service providers
Cloudflare R2 stores uploaded audio. DeepInfra processes audio for transcription in the United States. Cloudflare also provides infrastructure and Turnstile, with processing across its global network. Google provides Google sign-in when you choose it, and Google Analytics. Microsoft provides Clarity usage analytics. Creem will process payments when paid plans launch; Voxcribe receives payment references and entitlement information rather than your full card details. These providers process information to deliver their services. Your information may therefore be processed outside the country where you live.
How long we keep information
Uploaded audio is deleted after 7 days. Unclaimed anonymous transcript text is retained for 7 days. Free-account text is retained for 30 days. Paid-plan text is retained until you delete it. When an account is downgraded to Free, existing paid text receives a 30-day grace period from the downgrade date. Cache indexes are removed with the corresponding transcript. Operational logs are retained for 30 days and do not contain transcript text.
Deleting your data
You can delete individual records from History. To delete your account, open /account and choose “Delete account and all data.” Account and transcript records are removed, stored audio is queued for deletion with retries if storage is temporarily unavailable, and subscription cancellation is requested. We retain only limited records needed to prevent abuse, reconcile usage and financial events, and meet legal obligations. Those records do not contain transcript text. Signing out or deleting through the current browser also clears that browser's saved drafts and recent-history index; Voxcribe cannot remotely clear an offline device.
Your choices and requests
You can manage browser cookies and local site storage through your browser, though clearing them may remove access to anonymous tasks. You can export transcripts before deleting them or before their retention period ends. For access, correction, deletion, or other privacy requests, contact support@voxcribe.net. We may verify your identity before acting and will handle requests under the laws that apply to you. We reply to requests within 5 business days.
Changes and contact
